Soumya Deep Das
Soumya Deep Das is currently pursuing his Ph.D. at National Institute of Advanced Studies (NIAS), Bangalore in Ministry of Earth Sciences (MoES) funded project at Energy & Environment Program under School of Natural Sciences and Engineering. His current research is focused on Power Sector Reforms to Promote Rural Enterprises – A Study of Rural Electrification in North Karnataka.
Before joining NIAS, he worked with few regional NGO’s on Rural Development & Technology Intervention Projects back in Tripura. Later he worked with Tripura Government’s Directorate of Skill Development under the Department of Industries & Commerce and was a key member of State Public Grievance Redress & Monitoring Unit. Apart from this, he is a thorough Cricket enthusiast and also has a keen interest in projects linked to Rural Electrification, Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and Grassroots Innovation. His biggest desire is to win the “Whitley Award” someday so that he could contribute to his homeland Tripura.
Prior to this course, he completed his graduation on Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering and post-graduation on Integrated Energy System; both from National Institute of Technology, Agartala. Subsequently, there he published few papers in International Peer-Reviewed Journals and also presented a paper in National Conference.
