Surya Sankar Sen
Surya Sankar Sen is a PhD research student at the National Institute of Advanced Studies (NIAS), Bangalore. His research interests focus on West Asian politics and history, with specific emphasis on issues of territorial disputes, ideology, and the role of non-state actors, international involvement, and peacekeeping in the region.
He has served as a research assistant, most notably on projects associated with the Indian Council of Cultural Relations (ICCR), the Indian Council of Social Science Research (ICSSR) as well as on a joint collaboration between the University Grants Commission (UGC) and the
Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD).
He holds an M.Phil in International Relations from Jadavpur University, Kolkata. In his M.Phil dissertation, he examined the geopolitical implications of the emergence of the ISIS as an important player in international relations, by contemplating prospective foreseeable projections into the future of the regional and international actors which have been impacted upon by the same.
