Ekta Gupta did her bachelor and master degree in Geography with specialization in geomorphology from Delhi and Pune University respectively. She completed her M.Tech in RS and GIS from NIIT University, Rajasthan in 2014. She has worked with Dr. R.N. Sankhua, Director of National Water Academy, Pune (2014) on RS and GIS based assessment of canal irrigation as a part of her M.Tech. Dissertation. She joined as a JRF in an ISRO funded project titled ‘Investigation of vegetation changes in the arid Trans-Himalayan ecosystem of northern India’ at Center for Ecological Sciences, Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore from 2014 to 2015. She worked as Research Assistant from July 2015 to July 2016 at NIAS in a Project titled- ‘Cultural heritage of Karnataka: A remote sensing and GIS Perspective’ funded by Karnataka Knowledge Commission. Presently, she is a PhD Scholar at NIAS.
