Abstract: 

Fibnoacci sequence begins with 0,1 and each subsequent number is the sum of previous two. After a brief historical survey of Fibonacci numbers, I shall point out some of their applications and properties. Further we shall consider more general recursive sequences.

About the Speaker:

After post-graduation from Panjab University Chandigarh, Prof. Shorey joined School of Mathematics of Tata Institute of Fundamental Research in 1968, where he stayed till 2010 and then Department of Mathematics of Indian Institute of Technology Bombay upto 2015 where he carried out research in number theory and taught some topics in mathematics.
